I travel to Iowa every year (it's where I'm from), so once in a while, I like to take an alternate route. In planning this most recent trip, I saw that I would be wanting to stop for the night near Paola KS, and I booked a night at Kaskaskia Place. This lovely old house has been carefully restored with comfy beds and luxurious bathrooms. It's too bad they don't serve breakfast because the kitchen area (which guests can use) is gorgeous, with a cozy wood breakfast bar. There must be neighbors with motorcycles nearby, and that was pretty much all the noise. I wish I could have stayed a few more nights to enjoy the accommodations and area.

🥰 Drop everything you're doing right now, and book your stay here! I cannot recommend this place enough! My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night. We are locals, but wanted to have a mini-getaway to relax after all our festivities, and I'm soooo glad we did! We booked Betty's Attic, the penthouse, and added on breakfast in the morning. Where do I even start? Scott and Matt are very hospitable - answering my questions before booking, and once we got there, their gracious hospitality continued. Their space is AMAZING - attention to detail, beautifully designed (my background is Interior Design, so I do so appreciate interior aesthetics and taste). The design seemed old world (Victorian) mixed with modern luxury with a tongue-in-cheek personality and a nod towards romantic eclecticism. I'm OBSESSED! The breakfast in their gorgeous dining room was the cherry on top of our stay - we felt like a King and Queen! Food was beyond delicious! I have food sensitivities and Scott was so accommodating. We are going to be booking many more staycations here. Thank ya'll so much for the beautiful experience. xx

This is a beautiful B&B. We had no problems. Great sleeping. It is not good for handicap, as it has stairs.

My husband and I stayed there on October 17, and we loved it. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. It is located in a quiet spot but is easily walkable to the downtown area.

Kaskaskia Place was a home away from home. I recommend it to anyone who wants to avoid the typical hotel experience or a quiet place to get away and relax.

My wife and I stayed for two nights, and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing weekend. Everything was top notch, from the incredible service to the impeccable decor. The moment you enter the house, it feels like you’re stepping back in time, in a good way! Each space is perfectly staged. Pair that with the relaxing music playing throughout the common areas, and you’re set! I would also highly recommend the dining options. We had breakfast both mornings, and dinner the second night. Scott is a phenomenal chef! I wish we would have dined in the first night as well. If you’re looking for a quick getaway from the city, this is definitely it!

I was visiting my daughter in Paola and needed a place to rest my head in the evenings after a long day together. Kaskaskia Place was ideal in every way. The house has a way of making you feel at home from the moment you pull up. The hosts reached out before I arrived to ensure all went smoothly, and were available for any questions. I often steer away from B&B because I worry about privacy, but it truly felt like an escape. Would definitely stay again!!

Excellent place to stay in Paola. Beautiful old home. I stayed in the Lillian room, and really enjoyed that claw foot bathtub. I always seem to sleep better at a B&B than at some chain hotel.
